Yesterday Josh hosted the 3rd Annual Josh Hutcherson Celebrity Basketball Game benefiting Straight But Not Narrow at Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, California. Photos and video from the game can now be viewed below:
The third annual Josh Hutcherson Celebrity basketball game kicked off at L.A. Live on Friday evening, headlined by actors Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Romeo Miller, Kyle Massey, former NFL star Terrell Owens, and many others. The net earnings from the game will go to raising funds and awareness for Josh’s charity, “Straight But Not Narrow.”
All the participating celebrities were split into two teams – Team White and Team Black. The game was four 10 minute quarters, with no stoppage of time during dead balls and free throws.
E! Online has exclusively revealed that Josh is helping launch Power On, the new Straight But Not Narrow (SBNN) initiative with The Trevor Project and human I-T to provide LGBTQ youth access to computers and online resources.
“I’m kicking off the Power On campaign by donating one of my old computers, and it’s awesome to know that it’ll be used to help a young person out there who, before this campaign, wasn’t able to get access to information and resources that could really help them,” Hutcherson said in a statement. “I’ve always respected the work that The Trevor Project does, and to have an opportunity for Straight But Not Narrow to collaborate with them on a campaign like Power On is exciting.”
From today through LBGT Spirit Day on Oct. 17, human I-T will refurbish donated laptops, tablets and smart phones that will be distributed to LGBTQ youth in underserved areas of the U.S.
And tonight Hutcherson hosts his third annual celebrity charity basketball game in downtown L.A. that benefits SBNN. Among those playing are The Avengers’ Clark Gregg, Dallas star Josh Henderson, former NFL star Terrell Owens and NBA player Sasha Vujacic, among others.
