Jennifer Lawrence: “Josh is so charming”

Jennifer Lawrence, the actress portraying Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming “Hunger Games” movie, has spoken to MTV Movies about her role in the film. She also briefly describes her co-stars, Josh and Liam (Hemsworth), and explains why they are so fitting for their roles as Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne. The video can be seen below.

“Detention” Picked Up by Sony Pictures

Josh’s slasher comedy movie, “Detention”, has been picked up production company Sony Pictures and will be heading to theatres worldwide. Mixing elements of comedy, horror, sci-fi and action movies, the film centers on a group of high school seniors who face off against a slasher killer, and ultimately find themselves in a position to save the world – if only they can get out of detention.

“This is the best apocalyptic fantasy, horror, science fiction, action- thriller, body swapping, time-traveling teen romantic comedy that we have ever screened. The pace, energy, and awesomeness Joseph Kahn has achieved in ‘Detention’ is completely mind-blowing in the best way possible,” said Sony exec Scott Shooman in a statement.

The film recently won the Youth Jury prize for best FutureWave Feature Film at the Seattle International Film Festival.

“I am thrilled for ‘Detention’ to find an enthusiastic home at Sony,” said Kahn. “I am looking forward to unleashing our apocalyptic fantasy, horror, science fiction, action- thriller, body swapping, time-traveling teen romantic comedy!” Read more at the source.

“Hunger Games” panel at Comic Con not “locked [in] yet”

The Examiner has taken to clearing up rumours circulating which state that there will be a “Hunger Games” panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. A representative from Lionsgate has stated that their “Comic Con plans aren’t locked yet”, however they promise to keep the fanbase updated.

As the dates for San Diego Comic Con 2011 inch closer and closer, fans of The Hunger Games are becoming more and more eager to find out if the convention will include any details or sneak peeks at The Hunger Games movie.

“Our Comic Con plans aren’t locked yet,” Lionsgate tells The Hunger Games Examiner. “But we will be sure to keep everyone posted.”

Besides the potential of The Hunger Games, Lionsgate has a lot of upcoming films that would be a good fit for Comic Con, held July 21-24 this year, such as the remake of Conan the Barbarian and Abduction, starring Taylor Lautner. More at the source.

Our new gallery can be found here at it’s new URL and hopefully you all like it and it’s a little easier to navigate through. There’s still a few things missing (scans, screen captures, movie images) but I’ll add them as we go along.
